The Society of Buddhist Meditation
Retreat (BMR) was founded in 2018 and became a registered
society under Registry of Societies (ROS), Singapore, on 29 Mar
2019. BMR was gazetted under Singapore Government Gazette Notification No.
928 on 11 April 2019. BMR is one of Buddhist societies
in Singapore that organise and conduct various Dharma programs
for general public.
BMR was guided by Ashin Bhaddanta Nyanawara, also known as Pyinnyar Parami Sayardaw who is an experienced and enthusiastic spiritual learning and development advisor with 24 years of extensive religious coaching, mentoring, counselling and motivational skills. He had indeed inspired devotees with teachings of Buddha’s way of living and enable one to lead life peacefully, respectably, harmlessly and nobly. He had a proven ability to transform devotees from negative to positive mental state, practices and habits. His ability to empower learners enables them to achieve their full potential in education, professional and spiritual areas of life.
Although formed in 2018, BMR’s history was dated back to 2013 in Singapore due to overwhelming interest from public on Pyinnyar Parami Sayardaw’s teaching with the strong support from people who wish to practice meditation and teachings of Buddha.
BMR’s primary function is to organize and conduct various Dharma programs for general public with numerous benefits. The program cultivates and promotes moral psychology and assists individuals to overcome difficulties, as well as developing moral conduct. This will help develop individual’s mind, promote quality and moral strength of community and encourage individuals to spend time in taking Dharma classes and meditation rather than congregating and creating unintended problems.
BMR also conducts activities that can promote moral and spiritual enlightenment of individuals such as yearly “Warso Robe” offerings to monks with tangible benefits of social cohesiveness and racial harmony. BMR’s other volunteering services and assistances are for those who are in need which include scholarship for needy and blood donation drive. With current strength of members, and strong interest from public, BMR committee members are ready and prepared to serve society activities.
Welcome to our BMR society and Pyinnyar Parami community. Together, we are a dedicated group of devoted volunteers and professionals working toward the goal of helping all those in need to enable them to lead life peacefully, transform them positively and build bright futures for themselves.
